Inpatient and outpatient coders accurately code assignment of all inpatient, outpatient, and emergency service diagnoses, procedures and conditions as indicated in the patient’s medical charts. Classification systems include ICD-9-CM, ICD10, ICDPCS, CPT or HCPCs codes. HIM and other editions, and all coding is in accordance with official coding guidelines from the American Medical Association. All work is carried out in accordance with the Health Information Management department and approved policies and procedures.
